ABOUT US

Welcome to our Evolutionary Photonics lab, where we hang out at the interface of organismal, evolutionary, and developmental biology, soft matter physics, biophotonics, biological materials engineering and biomimetics. We undertake integrative and interdisciplinary studies of the photonic nano-structures underlying organismal structural coloration (both iridescent and non-iridescent; extant and extinct with a current focus on insects) in terms of their optical and biological function, morphogenesis and evolution!
